Visit Dublin Zoo
Ireland’s most popular family attraction – the Dublin Zoo, is one of the world’s oldest zoos and home to many endangered species. Located in the Phoenix Park, just 15 minutes from the Belvedere hotel, the zoo is open all year round from 9:30 am and is easily accessible by car or public transport. Take the LUAS from Abbey Street to Heuston Station and from here Dublin Zoo and the Phoenix Park are just minutes away!
Explore O’Connell Street
Just a “hop, skip & a jump” from the Belvedere Hotel is O’Connell Street, the main street of Dublin. The historic street has witnessed countless battles over the years and is home to rich Dublin history hidden in plain sight. Originally called Sackville Street it was renamed in 1924 in honour of Daniel O’Connell, an Irish revolutionary from the early 19th century. A statue of the famous “Liberator” stands at the lower end of the street, facing O’Connell Bridge. O’Connell Street’s impressive architecture features the world’s tallest sculpture – The Spire.
Summer is probably the best time to visit the magnificent Guinness Storehouse, one of Dublin’s top visitor attractions and a must-see for any Dublin visit. This exciting tour offers an insight into the life and history of the brand’s famous founder Arthur Guinness, along with providing visitors with a first-hand look at how Guinness is made. Once you have finished learning about Guinness, what better activity than to enjoy a pint of the black stuff in the spectacular Gravity Bar, providing a 360◦ view of Dublin City glowing in the sunshine.
